Marsala
It is an Italian municipality with a population of 79,610. It is the most populous municipality in the free municipal consortium of Trapani and the fifth most populous in Sicily. The city is famous for the landing of Garibaldi and his Thousand on May 11, 1860, and for the production of the eponymous Marsala wine, for which it has been a City of Wine since 1987.
Trapani - Erice
It is a city in western Sicily with a crescent-shaped coastline. At the western tip, overlooking the Egadi Islands, stands the 17th-century Torre di Ligny watchtower, which houses the Museum of Prehistory and Marine Archaeology. North of the port, the Church of Purgatory houses wooden sculptures that parade through the city during the Procession of the Mysteries at Easter.
Castellammare del Golfo
San Vito Lo Capo
Castellammare del Golfo is an Italian town of 14,608 inhabitants in the free municipal consortium of Trapani in Sicily. The town lies on the slopes of the Monte Inici mountain range and lends its name to the gulf overlooking the castle, bordered to the east by Capo Rama and to the west by Capo San Vito. The latter is a small seaside resort in northwestern Sicily famous for its beach overlooking a sheltered bay dominated from above by Monte Monaco. In the center, the Sanctuary of San Vito (15th century) is a fortress-like structure with Arab-Norman architecture. Arab-Norman influences are also evident in the tiny Chapel of Santa Crescenzia, on the main road leading out of town, and in the Torrazzo, a circular tower.
Mazara del Vallo
It is an Italian municipality of 49,983 inhabitants[1] of the free municipal consortium of Trapani, in Sicily. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, at the mouth of the Màzaro River, it is less than 200 km from the Tunisian coast of North Africa. It is the seat of the diocese of the same name. The city is one of the most important and well-known fishing ports in the Mediterranean, a base for a fleet of around 400 large deep-sea trawlers (with around 4,000 fishermen on board) which makes it the main fishing district in Italy.
The historic centre, once enclosed within Norman walls, includes numerous monumental churches, some dating back to the 11th century. The oldest part has the typical features of the Islamic urban layout of the medina, called casbah[5], with its narrow, winding streets, and represents one of the very few remaining architectural testimonies of the Arab presence in Sicily and Italy.
